This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 49 wins and 34 losses; Rolf Ottke! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 9 wins and 9 losses; Ken Vrjalya!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Bruno Lombardi and Chad Campbell.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Vrjalya shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ottke but Ottke pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Ottke throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Vrjalya was covering up waiting for the punch and Ottke finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ottke is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Ottke's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Vrjalya has the hooks in. Ottke is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Vrjalya has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Ottke has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Ottke tries to escape but Vrjalya has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
