Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Abdul Keji! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Ed Jones! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Taro Takaoka and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones clinches. Jones keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Keji's efforts to push away. Jones lands a nice shot to the body. Jones scores with a shoulder strike. Keji is breathing heavily. Jones misses with the head strike.
Keji takes a shot to the head. Jones misses with a hook to the ribs.
Jones blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Jones lands a body punch in the clinch. I was talking to Keji's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Jones misses with an elbow over the top. Keji can't break the clinch.
Jones lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. A frustrated look appears on Keji's face as he tries to break the clinch. Jones lands a body punch in the clinch. Keji blocks a body shot from Jones. Jones using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Jones lands a right hand. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Jones creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A nice left hand lands by Jones.
Jones throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Jones lands a hook to the side of the head.
Keji is rocked! Jones pushes Keji against the cage. Jones is working some dirty boxing. Jones pushes off with a quick right hook! Keji goes down! Keji tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Jones moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ed Jones! Our winner, Ed Jones, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
