This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 8 wins and 3 losses; Long Wang! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Ackerman and Phil Schofield.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Pearson takes the fight into the clinch. Wang prevents a takedown attempt there.
Pearson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Wang can't fight it off and eventually Pearson manages to take the fight to the floor. Wang is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Pearson is pressing down on Wang's thigh, looking to free his foot. Wang is holding on for now. Pearson is working for a kimura but Wang is defending it quite comfortably.

Wang might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Pearson haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Pearson tries to free his leg and advance position but Wang is retaining full guard. Pearson trying to control the position from guard on top but Wang is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pearson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wang swivels though and keeps the full guard. Pearson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Pearson has a hand on Wang's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Wang takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! And that's the end of the fight! As we have tied on points, we go to a tie breaker and Pearson gets a bonus point for attempting more subs. Pearson takes the fight on points by 11 to 10. A relieved looking Norman Pearson thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. Long Wang spoke after the fight, saying 'No worries. Everyone here knows my opponent has a bad habit of testing positive for PEDs, so I'm sure this fight will soon be ruled a 'No Contest' by the Athletic Commission.'. |
