PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Colton Wilder (ranked 1525 p4p, 1905 weight class) and Nuke Death (ranked 210 p4p, 248 weight class). Wilder comes to the cage accompanied by The Good, The Bad, The Ugly. Nuke Death will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nuke Death!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Matti Vanhoillinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Death stuffs the takedown attempt from Wilder. Wilder gets slowly back to his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Wilder cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Wilder cracks Death with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

It looks like Colton Wilder has been cut.

Death feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Wilders jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Wilder dives in for a single leg takedown but Death sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
It seemed like Death was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Wilder slips a nice elbow through Death's hands, connecting with Death's forehead.

Wilder has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Wilder is on top in guard.

Wilder keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Death's head.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Wilder wants to pass to mount but Death is defending the position.

Nuke Death comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
