Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hector Bonilla!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, ulrich stern!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
stern lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
It looks like Hector Bonilla has been cut.
ulrich stern seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bonilla decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Bonilla is breathing heavily.
stern moves into full guard.
stern is looking to stand up but Bonilla isn't so interested in that idea.
stern escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bonilla gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Bonilla postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
stern feints and as Bonilla raises his hands in defense, stern changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Bonilla working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. stern doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. stern manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
stern tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bonilla paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Bonilla drops back looking for a leg! stern is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and stern manages to kick Bonilla off! Bonilla jumps back into stern's guard.
Bonilla makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

stern manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bonilla manages to get himself to full guard.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
stern stuffs the takedown attempt from Bonilla. Bonilla gets slowly back to his feet.
stern lands with a nice combination. Bonilla backs away looking to recover.

and stern counters with a nice kick to the body.
A slapping body kick lands there for stern.

stern fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
stern shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bonilla as he avoids it easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
stern tries to close the distance and clinch but Bonilla swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bonilla closes the distance and pushes stern back into the cage.
stern breaks from the clinch.
stern changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bonilla tries to avoid it but stern manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bonilla to the ground. Bonilla escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hector Bonilla has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of ulrich stern.

Bonilla tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but stern swivels and escapes.
stern clinches up with Bonilla and pushes him back against the cage.
stern manages to break the clinch.
Bonilla really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Bonilla bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Bonilla working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Bonilla thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
stern tries to bench press Bonilla off him but Bonilla keeps the position.

Bonilla is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. stern is trying to escape and Bonilla transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and stern is forced to tap! Nice work there by Bonilla! Very nice indeed!
