Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tali Ihantala (ranked 62 p4p, 393 weight class) and Edmond Honda (ranked 2 p4p, 15 weight class). Honda is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: E. Honda Stage Theme Extended. Edmond Honda has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tali Ihantala!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 20 - 0, fighting out of New York, Edmond Honda!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Ihantala misses the target.
Ihantala throws a lazy right hand but Honda sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Honda moves into range and connects with a jab.
Ihantala tries a head kick but it misses.
Nice uppercut lands for Honda. That snapped Ihantala's head back.
Honda throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ihantala's waist but Ihantala gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Honda off to one side.
Good work by Ihantala as he checks the leg kick.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Honda.
Honda throws a chopping leg kick but Ihantala manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Honda delivers a nice body kick.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That has opened up Edmond Honda's cut even more.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Honda slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Ihantala parries the strikes from Honda easily there. Honda is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Ihantala to escape.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
You can see the frustration on Ihantala's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Ihantala is trying to get back to half guard.
Honda trying to control the position but Ihantala is working away.
Ihantala manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Honda is looking for a sweep. Ihantala is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Ihantala moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Honda.

Honda scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Honda is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ihantala doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Honda.

Honda slips a nice elbow through Ihantala's hands, connecting with Ihantala's forehead.
Ihantala wants to improve his position but Honda is controlling well.
Ihantala regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Honda.
Honda throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ihantala works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Ihantala is pulling down on Honda's head. It's preventing any offense from Honda, at least for the moment.
Ihantala's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Ihantala ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Honda lands a leg kick that knocks Ihantala off balance momentarily.
Tali Ihantala is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Honda tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ihantala defends well and Honda ends up having to push Ihantala into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Edmond Honda's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Ihantala tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Honda's elbow.
Honda can't break the clinch.
Honda tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Ihantala misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Ihantala is pressed up against the cage. Honda has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ihantala down to the mat. Ihantala avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Honda closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Edmond Honda's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Tali Ihantala!
A victorious Tali Ihantala thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter.
In defeat, Edmond Honda stepped up to the mic, saying 'You must defeat Sheng Long to stand a chance!'.
