Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Darry Curtis (ranked 712 p4p, 563 weight class) and Jesse Custer (ranked 105 p4p, 78 weight class). Curtis comes to the cage accompanied by Stevie Wonder - Stay Gold. Custer is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Zebrahead - Falling Apart. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 17 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Darry Curtis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jesse Custer! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Custer uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Curtis. Custer avoids a kick to the body.
A low kick from Curtis is predictable there and Custer counters with a leg kick. Custer walks into a straight right hand from Curtis. Curtis misses with a lunging right hand
and Custer cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
It looks like Darry Curtis has been cut. Custer avoids a kick to the body.
A solid leg kick lands there for Curtis.
Curtis tries to close the distance and clinch but Custer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Curtis misses with a right hand and Curtis takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Curtis throws out a loose jab but Custer uses good head movement to avoid it. Curtis looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Custer walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Curtis checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Curtis throws out a leg kick but Custer moves out of range and Curtis only half commits. Curtis swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Custer. Curtis with a body punch. A glancing blow.
That's one minute gone in the round. A lazy body kick from Curtis and Custer counters with a lovely straight right hand! Custer throws a low kick but Curtis avoids it. Curtis appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Curtis throws a sloppy head kick and Custer counters with a good, hard body kick but Curtis shrugs it off. Custer fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Curtis on the side of the head.
Curtis is rocked! Curtis slips a jab from Custer. Oh Curtis is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! Custer comes at him with an uppercut from hell! Curtis falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! Curtis was out before he hit the floor!
