Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gillechriosd McCoy (ranked 317 p4p, 1454 weight class) and Xon HiChi (ranked 49 p4p, 195 weight class). Xon HiChi has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Gillechriosd McCoy's chin.

HiChi's coach down at London MMA Club was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on HiChi's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
HiChi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McCoy swivels though and keeps the full guard.
McCoy seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
McCoy seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

HiChi looking to sit in guard and control but McCoy gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

McCoy slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
McCoy's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

McCoy is looking to advance position but HiChi has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

McCoy wants to control but HiChi is having none of it.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
McCoy sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
McCoy is looking to control HiChi's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can McCoy avoid being mounted?
