PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marco Paris (ranked 434 p4p, 745 weight class) and Ralphie White (ranked 66 p4p, 112 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marco Paris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ralphie White!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paris takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
White lands a head shot.
White blocks a jab.
White clobbers Paris with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
White throws a right and a left that both miss.
Paris throws an uppercut from half a mile away. White sees it coming and avoids it easily.
White needs to keep his hands up - Paris had a free shot at his head there.
White lands a nice looking body shot.

Oh, that's a big right hand from Paris and White goes tumbling to the canvas! Paris follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Paris is looking for a kimura but White is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Paris to get the leverage.

White is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Paris scores with a couple of nice shots.
White is staying active underneath Paris, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

White looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Paris looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks White with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Paris wants to take a breather but White is having none of it.

White is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Paris scores with a couple of nice shots.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Paris in particular looking to stall.
Paris thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed White's head.
White is looking to improve his position.
Paris has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Paris lands a couple of good shots and White has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

White is trying to get back to his feet but Paris has full control of the position and if anything, White has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Paris lands a shot to the head.

Paris looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. White is controlling Paris 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard.
Paris wants to sweep but no luck.

Paris will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Paris trying to keep a closed guard but White is proving a slippery customer.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Marco Paris dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

A jab lands there for Paris.
Paris takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Paris is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
White throws a looping overhand right but Paris ducks down to avoid it.

Paris drops White with a right and a left! Paris comes rushing in but White regains his composure and manages to keep Paris in guard.

White is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

White is still in real trouble! Can Paris finish him?

Paris loads up on a big left hand. White felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Paris looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! White can't hide his disappointment, as Paris celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marco Paris!
After the big win, Marco Paris made sure to do all the important stuff like thanking his sponsors Brooklyn Apothecary and telling the interviewer how much he loves him.
