Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ankle Breaker (ranked 1961 p4p, 1458 weight class) and Rafael Soto (ranked 121 p4p, 81 weight class). Soto is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Death con carne by - SEPULTURA. Rafael Soto acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ankle Breaker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rafael Soto!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Phil Schofield and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Breaker tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Soto swivels and escapes.

Soto takes the fight into the clinch.
Breaker is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Soto to keep the fight standing.

Soto pulls guard successfully.

Soto has his foot on Breaker's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Breaker works his way back into a safe position though.
Breaker trying to control but Soto is working from the bottom.
Soto looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Breaker throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Soto utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Soto has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Breaker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Breaker trying to control the position from guard on top but Soto is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Breaker avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Breaker with a flurry of punches that miss.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Soto is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Breaker is aware though and is defending well.
Breaker trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Soto is looking for a triangle but Breaker pushes his legs off easily.
Breaker trying to control the position from guard on top but Soto is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Soto had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Breaker defends it easily.
Breaker throws a big elbow that misses.

Soto working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Breaker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Soto is tightening it up a little... Breaker has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Breaker reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Breaker taps out! Nice BJJ there by Soto!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Rafael Soto!
An out of breath Rafael Soto thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
