Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Brown (ranked 3079 p4p, 1758 weight class) and Alexander Korolev (ranked 414 p4p, 255 weight class). Korolev is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by KILLSHOT. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Brown! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alexander Korolev! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Eddie Farnsworth and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brown shoots for a double leg takedown but Korolev sprawls well. He's pushed Brown's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Brown uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Korolev. Brown ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Korolev swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A telegraphed right hand from Korolev misses the target. Alexander Korolev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No joy there for Korolev, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Korolev misses with a wild body shot. Korolev cracks Brown with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Korolev has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Brown to stand back up!
It looks like John Brown has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Brown uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Korolev. Korolev throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Brown appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Brown closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Brown feints and as Korolev raises his hands in defense, Brown changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Brown missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Brown shoots in looking for a takedown but Korolev manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Brown's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Brown uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Korolev.
Korolev lunges at Brown with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Brown's hand. Brown fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Korolev looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Brown moves out of range of the strikes. Korolev loads up on a big right hand but Brown slips the punch. Korolev tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Brown was well out of range. Poor timing from Korolev. Donk. Korolev catches Brown right on the button with a cross. Korolev looks to score with a jab to the body but Brown is just out of range. Brown attempts a counter takedown but Korolev avoids it well and moves away. Korolev measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Brown! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!
