Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kimbo Slaissi (ranked 277 p4p, 241 weight class) and Gary Sparxx (ranked 41 p4p, 34 weight class). Sparxx comes into a darkened arena with his song building. American Psycho- The Misfits kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kimbo Slaissi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 32 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gary Sparxx! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shirou Masuda and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice shot lands for Sparxx.
It looks like Kimbo Slaissi has been cut. Slaissi throws a head kick that misses. Sparxx's corner calls for a 1-2. Sparxx obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Sparxx throws an ugly left hook that misses
letting Slaissi counter with a right hand. Nice straight punches there by Sparxx. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Sparxx. Sparxx is looking to slow Slaissi down with leg kicks. Sparxx misses with a looping right. Slaissi cracks Sparxx with an open hand slap. Slaissi keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sparxx is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Slaissi. Slaissi throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Slaissi swings away with a leg kick that misses. Sparxx looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sparxx throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Slaissi closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Slaissi swings wildly with an uppercut but Sparxx uses good head movement to avoid it. Sparxx tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Slaissi manages to break the clinch.
Sparxx throws out a loose jab but Slaissi uses good head movement to avoid it. A shot to the body from Sparxx misses and Slaissi counters with a straight right hand. Sparxx tries a head kick but it misses.
Sparxx swings widly with a right hand
and Slaissi counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Slaissi misses with a leg kick and Sparxx cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Gary Sparxx seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sparxx rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Slaissi moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Sparxx catches Slaissi with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Kimbo Slaissi's cut is getting worse. Sparxx defending well as Slaissi loads up on a big left hand. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Slaissi tries to clinch up and Sparxx connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Sparxx throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Slaissi counters with a nice leg kick. Slaissi rushes Sparxx and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Sparxx struggles to land a body shot inside as Slaissi controls his hands.
Sparxx lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Slaissi backwards. Sparxx fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Still in the clinch, Slaissi scores with a nice short uppercut. Slaissi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sparxx gets tackled into the cage by Slaissi. Slaissi maintains the clinch. Slaissi misses with the head strike.
Sparxx throws a punch but it's blocked by Slaissi. Sparxx scores with an uppercut up the middle. Slaissi blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Sparxx swings wildly with an uppercut but Slaissi uses good head movement to avoid it. Sparxx tries to throw a body punch but Slaissi avoids it by throwing Sparxx back against the cage. Slaissi lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Sparxx is trying to break the clinch but Slaissi has him pressed against the cage. Sparxx swings away with an uppercut that misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Sparxx. Sparxx throws a head punch that misses. Sparxx misses with a hook from the clinch. Slaissi lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Sparxx backwards. This has been an exciting period of action! Slaissi blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Sparxx tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Sparxx swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Slaissi lands with a right to the head. I was talking to Slaissi's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Slaissi blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Sparxx works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Sparxx lands an uppercut. Slaissi takes an elbow to the forehead. Sparxx working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Gary Sparxx will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Kimbo Slaissi's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Jeez, Kimbo Slaissi's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked. Gary Sparxx seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Slaissi fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Sparxx throws a hook but Slaissi avoids it easily. Sparxx misses with a wild body shot. Sparxx misses with a shot to the body and Slaissi counters with a body kick that stops Sparxx in his tracks momentarily. Sparxx throws a lazy head kick and Slaissi counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Slaissi gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Sparxx is breathing heavily. A head punch on the inside from Slaissi fails to land. Slaissi keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Sparxx's efforts to push away.

Slaissi makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Slaissi manages to break the clinch.
Slaissi thows a leg kick but Sparxx checks it and Sparxx counters with a right hand to the body. Sparxx misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A quick step to the side and Slaissi tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Sparxx wants to stay close but Slaissi steps back to make room for something. Sparxx seems frozen to the spot and bam! huge swing of the leg from Slaissi and Sparxx drops like he has been shot! A huge head kick and it's all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Kimbo Slaissi! Kimbo Slaissi decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well. Gary Sparxx was interviewed post fight and said 'Give me a couple hours, and I will meet you all at the dance floor!'.
