Heceda is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Hawaiian Kickboxer. Tommy Heceda has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Sergei Ulatov's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ulatov shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Heceda is trying to defend but Ulatov finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Ulatov seems to be working for a kimura but Heceda defends the submission attempt.

We've been hearing good reports from Ulatov's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ulatov decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Heceda, up you get!
Ulatov shoots in for a takedown but Heceda shows good takedown defense.
Heceda looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ulatov is defended easily by Heceda.

Heceda feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Ulatov sprawling to the canvas! Ulatov rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Heceda finish him?!

Sergei Ulatov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Heceda sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Ulatov's defenses. It connects perfectly with Ulatov's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!

A relieved looking Tommy Heceda thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
