Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Kamenev (ranked 556 p4p, 583 weight class) and Gunnar Bloodaxe (ranked 85 p4p, 87 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ivan Kamenev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 1, fighting out of New York, Gunnar Bloodaxe!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Saam Ante and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donk. Kamenev catches Bloodaxe right on the button with a cross.

Kamenev shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Kamenev lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Bloodaxe pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Bloodaxe wants to slow Kamenev down by chopping away at his legs.

Kamenev moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Bloodaxe goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Bloodaxe throws a hook but Kamenev blocks it.

Kamenev lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Bloodaxe wants to slow Kamenev down by chopping away at his legs.
Kamenev appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Kamenev is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Kamenev needs to keep his hands up - Bloodaxe had a free shot at his head there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bloodaxe wants to get back to full guard.
Bloodaxe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kamenev. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kamenev uses his free foot to push down on Bloodaxe's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bloodaxe.

I would just about give that final round to Gunnar Bloodaxe.
I think Bloodaxe has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
