Waterman tries to keep at a distance but Araujo has taken the fight into the clinch.
Waterman jumps guard but Araujo turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Waterman could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Araujo pulls guard.
Waterman won't allow Araujo to sweep him here.
Araujo is trying to keep Waterman in close.
Waterman trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Araujo wants to sweep but no luck.
Waterman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Araujo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Waterman passes Araujo's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Waterman is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Araujo defends it well.
Waterman will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Araujo is looking to control Waterman's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Araujo avoid being mounted?
Waterman wants to pass the guard but Araujo is defending well.
Waterman uses his free foot to push down on Araujo's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Araujo. Score +3 for passing guard: Waterman (3) vs (0) Araujo
Waterman quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Waterman but it's paid off an Araujo is forced to tap! Nice work by Waterman.
