The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Luis Engracia and Leandro Rodrigues.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Johns decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Carlier is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Johns perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Carlier looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Johns is working for a kimura but Carlier is defending it quite comfortably.

Johns seems to be working for a kimura but Carlier defends the submission attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Carlier looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Carlier is looking for a sweep. Johns is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Johns really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carlier. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Carlier is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Johns pulls his head out easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johns is thwarting Carlier's attempts to control the position.
Carlier looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Carlier looking for submissions off his back.
Johns is taking a breather. Carlier says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Johns is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Carlier doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Johns.

Carlier is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Johns is taking a breather. Carlier says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Carlier is staying active underneath Johns, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Carlier moves into full guard.
Johns is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Carlier controls Johns momentarily but Johns frees himself.

Johns is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Carlier looking for a guillotine here but Johns defends easily.
Johns tries to free his leg and advance position but Carlier is retaining full guard.

Carlier is trying to keep Johns in close.
Carlier can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Johns controls the pace.
Johns trying to control but Carlier is working from the bottom.
Carlier has his hands on Johns's head, controlling the position.
Johns trying to control the position from guard on top but Carlier is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Johns is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Carlier has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Johns is looking to defend but Carlier has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Johns! Carlier pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Johns taps out and this one is all over!
