The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Smith tries to stand and escape but Silver is controlling the position.
Smith blocks the strikes from Silver.
Silver looking for submissions off his back.
Smith thows a huge punch but Silver dodges it nicely.
Silver gets back to full guard.
Silver has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Silver bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Smith's guard.
Silver working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Silver passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Smith wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Silver tries for a kimura but Smith is defending well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Smith can do anything to dispel that myth.
