PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kugus Amiga (ranked 24274 p4p, 24751 weight class) and Helen Salvacion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kugus Amiga!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Helen Salvacion!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Amiga shoots for a double leg takedown but Salvacion sprawls well. He's pushed Amiga's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Amiga shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Amiga feints and as Salvacion raises his hands in defense, Amiga changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Amiga seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Salvacion is adopting a defensive guard.
Salvacion is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Amiga won't allow Salvacion to sweep him here.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Salvacion gets a double leg takedown into Amiga's guard.

Salvacion is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Amiga is on top in guard.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

That's time! Amiga's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Amiga tries to score a power double leg takedown but Salvacion sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Amiga somewhat.
Salvacion steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.

Amiga fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Salvacion to the ground. Amiga is now in Salvacion's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Salvacion wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Amiga is now in half guard.
Amiga prevents Salvacion from improving his position.
Salvacion is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Amiga's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Amiga's back!
Salvacion controls the action.
Salvacion is continuing to stall.
Kugus Amiga overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The adventures of Salvacion the control monster continue. Boring.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Amiga can't escape the position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Salvacion is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Helen Salvacion showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Salvacion is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Salvacion is controlling Amiga's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Salvacion wants to get back to full guard but Amiga has passed into side control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Salvacion is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.
Amiga slows the pace down.

Amiga wants to sweep but no luck.

Amiga is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Amiga wants to hit a sweep here but Salvacion passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Amiga there!

I would just about give that final round to Helen Salvacion.
I think Salvacion has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
