Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Han Wulong (ranked 2158 p4p, 3709 weight class) and Vito Romero (ranked 309 p4p, 497 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Vito Romero was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Han Wulong! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vito Romero! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Igor Prikhodko and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Romero comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Wulong has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Brotherhood MMA in the buildup to the fight. Wulong is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Romero. Wulong shoots in for a takedown but Romero shows good takedown defense. Romero scores with the left hand. Wulong knows he should have avoided that one. Wulong misses the shot to the body. Romero misses with a left hand and Wulong counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Wulong breaks the clinch.

It looks like Vito Romero has been cut. Wulong scores with a punch to the head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Wulong misses with a low kick. Romero scores with a jab to the head.
Wulong looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Wulong in particular looking to stall. Romero really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wulong. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. That's one minute gone in the round. Wulong is trying to control the action in half guard but Romero is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Wulong is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Wulong is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Romero looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Wulong thows a huge punch but Romero dodges it nicely.

Wulong seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Romero does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. That's three minutes gone in the round. Wulong is keen to just control but Romero is a slippery customer. Wulong takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Romero is controlling Wulong's position as best he can from this difficult position. Wulong looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Romero with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Romero wants to control but Wulong is keeping busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Nice strikes from Wulong there. Wulong stalling. Wulong is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Han Wulong dominated that round. The cut man is working on Vito Romero's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round! A jab from Romero misses. Wulong misses with a takedown attempt - Romero sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. A little jabbing left from Romero on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Romero looks to land a right hand but Wulong moved out of range. Romero cracks Wulong with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes. Wulong gets cracked there but stands up to it.
A left lands for Romero. Wulong misses with a body shot.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Romero! But no joy. Wulong on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Romero closes the distance and lands a one-two. Wulong takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Romero fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Romero misses with a series of wild punches.

That has opened up Vito Romero's cut even more. Wulong is trying hard to land a takedown here. Romero sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Romero swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Wulong moves out of range of the strikes. Romero scores with a hook. Wulong shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Romero defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Han Wulong. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Romero manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Romero uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Wulong has time to react. Wulong shoots in and drives through. Romero sprawls well. Romero is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Wulong with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Romero to score with a decent uppercut. Romero sizes up Wulong with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Wulong takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Romero scores with a decent looking hook. Horrible takedown attempt by Wulong or perhaps it was just good defense by Romero, which made it look bad. Romero bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Wulong's head. Romero throws a good cross that connects.
Wulong tries for a takedown but Romero sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The crowd cheers as Romero lands an impressive looking overhand right. Wulong doesn't seem phased though. Romero scores with a jab to the jaw. Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Romero works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Romero listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Romero has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Romero ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Romero changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Wulong looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Wulong throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Romero's waist but Romero gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wulong off to one side. A jab lands there for Romero. Romero lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Wulong walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Wulong takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Wulong is rocked! Romero lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Oh Wulong is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Romero scores with a crisp jab that stopped Wulong in his tracks. Romero circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Wulong to the canvas! Wulong doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Romero keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vito Romero! Han Wulong spoke after the fight, saying 'Shieeeeet'.
