Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Quaid (ranked 4219 p4p, 3424 weight class) and Matvey Elin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jake Quaid! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matvey Elin! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Emerson Jorge and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Elin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Elin trying to mount his opponent but Quaid defends it. Quaid might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Quaid blocking the ground and pound attempt from Elin. Elin throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Quaid is looking for a sweep. Elin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Elin thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Quaid on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Elin uses his free foot to push down on Quaid's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Quaid. Elin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Elin working away from the top, dropping strikes. Elin throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Elin misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Quaid wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Elin.

That's one minute gone in the round. Elin throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Elin raining down shots from the mount! Elin scoring with strikes but Quaid is staying in there. Quaid on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Quaid tries to get out of the position. Quaid is bucking up trying to escape but Elin cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
It looks like Jake Quaid has been cut. Elin with good strikes from the mount here! Elin raining down shots from the mount! Quaid is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Elin postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Quaid looks a forlorn figure.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Elin working away from the top, dropping strikes. Poor strikes thrown by Elin there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee warns Quaid that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Jake Quaid's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Quaid blocking the ground and pound. Quaid is breathing heavily. Elin working Quaid over with strikes here.
Jeez, Jake Quaid's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jake Quaid's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Matvey Elin!
