Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between bolo yong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Makebono Bowen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Makebono Bowen has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with bolo yong's chin.

The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yuuki Gou and Tatsuya Matsuyama.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
yong shoots for a double leg takedown but Bowen sprawls well. He's pushed yong's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Makebono Bowen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
yong scores with a three punch combo!

Bowen feints and as yong raises his hands in defense, Bowen changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
yong is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Bowen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. yong swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's time! yong's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

and yong counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bowen won't be happy with that.
yong is looking to take a break and control but Bowen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
yong wants to take a breather but Bowen manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for yong.

yong decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

yong feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Bowen has his foot on yong's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. yong works his way back into a safe position though.

and yong counters with a three punch combo that has Bowen backing up. Bowen nods at yong to acknowledge the strikes.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bowen is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

yong cracks Bowen with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Bowen wants to get back to his feet.

yong is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Bowen has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but yong has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Bowen taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. yong doesn't care though - he's delighted!
