Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Svend Thorsby!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tauski Mountain!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Ron Honeybunn and Ben Hemmingworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mountain throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Mountain chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Thorsby can pounce on him.
Thorsby on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Thorsby throws a sloppy head kick
and Mountain counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Mountain moves out of range of the body kick.
Mountain fails to land with a series of punches.
A quick step to the side and Thorsby tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Thorsby throws a solid leg kick but Mountain takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Thorsby.
Thorsby wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Mountain motions for Thorsby to come forward. Mountain throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A low kick from Thorsby is predictable there
and Mountain counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends Thorsby down! Mountain is looking to finish but Thorsby is intelligently defending himself.
