Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roman Ship (ranked 3036 p4p, 2397 weight class) and Pablo Noriega (ranked 121 p4p, 64 weight class). Noriega has chosen MS-13 Mara Salvatrucha as his entrance music. Roman Ship has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 12 - 19 - 0, fighting out of London, Roman Ship! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 34 - 23 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pablo Noriega! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Damien Edna and Ben Watson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Noriega throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Ship appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Noriega misses with a hook
and Ship counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Noriega! Ship is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Noriega has escaped the position, nice work there. Ship swings around for an armbar but Noriega sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Ship's guard. Noriega avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

A punch lands to the side of Ship 's head but he takes it in his stride. Pablo Noriega seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ship moves in looking to clinch but Noriega pushes him off. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Noriega keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Noriega scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Noriega uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ship. Noriega has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Ship is landing a low percentage of strikes. Ship fails in his attempt to clinch. Noriega checks a low kick from Ship.

A big right from Noriega misses. Ship throws a push kick but Noriega slaps the foot to one side. A chopping leg kick lands by Noriega. Noriega scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Ship doesn't seem bothered though. Ship walks into a left hand. Pablo Noriega seems to be getting the better of the standup. Ship clinches up against the cage. Ship pulls guard successfully.
Noriega seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Ship working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Noriega has passed into half guard!

Ship will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Ship is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Noriega is aware though and is defending well. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Noriega not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Ship looks to throw the jab but Noriega is out of range. Noriega counters with a body kick. Ship is looking to clinch. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Pablo Noriega showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round! Ship tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Noriega manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Good work by Ship as he checks the leg kick. Noriega throws a nice inside leg kick. Ship tries to clinch but Noriega is having none of it. Noriega has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Ship tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Noriega on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Ship dives in and grabs Noriega's left leg, looking for a takedown. Noriega pushes down on Ship's head and hops out. Noriega jabs at Ship's body. Ship throws a shot from downtown. Noriega moves away and avoids it.

Noriega lands a nice leg kick that just misses Ship's sensitive parts. Ship fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Noriega manages to avoid it. Noriega throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Noriega throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Noriega lands a jab to Ship's midsection.

Ship looks to score with a jab to the body but Noriega is just out of range. Noriega lands a glancing blow to the side of Ship's head. Noriega plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Noriega throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Noriega throws a leg kick and Ship decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Noriega's guard. Ship drops back, looking for a kneebar! Noriega looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape.
