Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcus Shakes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Petcharon Darawan!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Jorge Garcia and Russell Pearce.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darawan scores with a sloppy right hand. Shakes should have avoided that one.
Shakes jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

It looks like Petcharon Darawan has been cut.

Shakes moves into range and clinches up with Darawan.
I was talking to Shakes's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Shakes lands an elbow that stopped Darawan in his tracks for a moment.

Darawan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Shakes cracks a nice hook into Darawan's ribs.
Shakes swings for the body but Darawan moves out of range.
A nice side step and Darawan releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Darawan throws a shot from downtown. Shakes moves away and avoids it.
Darawan scores with a kick to the midsection.
Shakes is looking to clinch but Darawan is avoiding it.
Darawan looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Shakes misses with a hook
and Darawan counters with a lovely straight right hand!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Darawan attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

and Darawan counters with a nice right hand that sends Shakes toppling to the canvas! Shakes scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Darawan finish him?!

Shakes is rocked!
Shakes looks to land a right hand but Darawan moved out of range.
Oh Shakes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Shakes closes the distance and clinches.

Darawan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Darawan throws out a loose jab but Shakes uses good head movement to avoid it.
Darawan looks to throw the jab but Shakes is out of range.
Shakes is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Darawan doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Shakes crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Shakes's bad books for that mishap!
