Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Batista closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Batista lands in his opponent's guard.

Cole working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Batista doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Batista manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Batista postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Batista drops back looking for a leg! Cole is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cole manages to kick Batista off! Batista jumps back into Cole's guard.

Batista is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cole is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Batista thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Batista swings around for an armbar but Cole sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Batista's guard.

Batista escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cole gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Cole postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Batista is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Cole, into his guard.

Cole has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Batista defend it? Cole steps over the head and cranks it - Batista is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Cole!
