The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Golov lands with a right hand.

Chan gets caught flat footed, as Golov shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Golov's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Golov stops Chan from standing up.
Golov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Chan is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Chan can do anything to dispel that myth.

Chan is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Golov asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Chan takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Golov takes a little break here. Chan wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Chan is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Golov asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Chan's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Golov lands a big shot to the head and Chan winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
