Mesquita escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nogueira gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Nogueira wants to pass the guard but Mesquita is keeping the position.
Mesquita looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Nogueira puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Mesquita is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Mesquita should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Mesquita tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Nogueira presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

That was a close round but I would say that Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Oh but Nogueira is tightening it up a little... Mesquita has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Mesquita reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Mesquita taps out! nice BJJ there by Nogueira!
