Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Conor Gillpatrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Bailey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Conor Gillpatrick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Bob Bailey!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Ackerman and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bailey darts in and clinches Gillpatrick up against the ropes.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Bailey using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Gillpatrick has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Gillpatrick fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Bailey manages to pull guard.
Gillpatrick trying to control the position from guard on top but Bailey is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gillpatrick gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Bailey throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Nice straight punches there by Bailey. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Bailey.
Bailey throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nice sprawl there from Bailey as Gillpatrick shoots in.

Bailey instigates a clinch.

Bailey successfully pulls guard.
Gillpatrick wants to control from the top but Bailey keeps moving.
Bailey not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Gillpatrick drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gillpatrick jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Gillpatrick drops back looking for a leg! Bailey is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bailey manages to kick Gillpatrick off! Gillpatrick jumps back into Bailey's guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Gillpatrick throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bailey's waist but Bailey gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gillpatrick off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Conor Gillpatrick. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gillpatrick throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bailey's waist but Bailey gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gillpatrick off to one side.
Gillpatrick shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bailey pinned against the cage. Bailey gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gillpatrick is breathing heavily.

Bailey looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Bailey has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Gillpatrick works to full guard.

Gillpatrick looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Bailey passes into side control.
Bailey working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Gillpatrick could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Bailey tries to advance to mount but Gillpatrick denies him.

Bailey looks up at the clock and then as Gillpatrick takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Bailey smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Gillpatrick doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Bailey counters by clinching up.

Bailey has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Gillpatrick uses from the top position.

Bailey pushes Gillpatrick off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Gillpatrick takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Bailey closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Bailey wants to stand but Gillpatrick has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Gillpatrick moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bailey is working Gillpatrick over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Well Bailey has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
