This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the light heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 18 wins and 10 losses; Amir Ziyaeddin! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 5 wins and 4 losses; Jan Sobieski! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Yves DeLean.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Ziyaeddin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Ziyaeddin (0) vs (2) Sobieski Sobieski stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ziyaeddin swivels though and keeps the full guard. Ziyaeddin is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sobieski wants to control from the top but Ziyaeddin keeps moving. Ziyaeddin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sobieski's guard. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Ziyaeddin (2) vs (2) Sobieski Sobieski working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ziyaeddin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ziyaeddin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Sobieski is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ziyaeddin wants to control from the top but Sobieski keeps moving. Sobieski is trying to keep Ziyaeddin in close.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sobieski wants to sweep but no luck. Ziyaeddin looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Sobieski looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ziyaeddin is one step ahead there. Ziyaeddin sitting in guard here, content to control. Ziyaeddin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sobieski is keeping the position for now. Sobieski has his foot on Ziyaeddin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ziyaeddin works his way back into a safe position though.

Ziyaeddin controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Sobieski is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ziyaeddin defends well. Ziyaeddin controlling from the top position. Sobieski is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Ziyaeddin wants to control from the top but Sobieski keeps moving.

Ziyaeddin rolls with it to try and escape but Sobieski cranks on the arm and Ziyaeddin is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
