This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 42 wins and 28 losses; Bjj Steel! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 15 wins and 11 losses; Jackson Ramirez! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Ramirez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Ramirez shoots in and gets a takedown into Steel's guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Steel (0) vs (2) Ramirez Ramirez told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Ramirez sitting in guard, not really doing much. Steel seems keen to control Ramirez's posture.
