Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kugus Amiga (ranked 24282 p4p, 24757 weight class) and Helen Salvacion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kugus Amiga! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Helen Salvacion! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Amiga tries to sprawl but Salvacion drives through with a takedown into half guard. Amiga is holding on to half guard well. Salvacion not doing much here.
Amiga is trying to maintain the position but Salvacion is very close to passing his half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Well, if Salvacion is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Salvacion's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's one minute gone in the round. It looks like Salvacion might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Let's hope that Salvacion has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Salvacion closes the distance and clinches up with Amiga, looking for a takedown. Salvacion pushes Amiga against the cage but Amiga circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Amiga quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Salvacion shoots in but no luck this time. It appears Amiga was looking to counter with a kick there. Salvacion fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Amiga to the ground. Salvacion is now in Amiga's guard. Amiga managing to control the position. Salvacion controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Amiga wants to sweep but no luck. Amiga pulls Salvacion in close to his closed guard and prevents Salvacion from doing any damage or advancing position. Amiga continues to stall.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Salvacion trying to control but Amiga is working from the bottom. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Salvacion's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Salvacion throws a body kick that misses and Amiga counters with a nice double leg into side control. Salvacion won't be happy with that. Salvacion wants to control but Amiga postures up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Amiga in side control, just content to control the action for now. You can see the frustration on Salvacion's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Helen Salvacion will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Salvacion fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Amiga to the ground. Salvacion is now in Amiga's guard. Salvacion seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. More stalling from Salvacion.
That's one minute gone in the round. Amiga trying to control the position here. Salvacion stopping the sweep attempt from Amiga. Amiga seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Salvacion tries for a takedown but Amiga sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Salvacion fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Amiga fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Salvacion sprawls well initially but Amiga persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Salvacion tries to get to full guard but Amiga has control of the leg. Amiga content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Salvacion wants to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Salvacion is looking to control Amiga's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Salvacion avoid being mounted? Amiga looks to land a strike but Salvacion avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Amiga scoring with punches to the head and body.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Kugus Amiga dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round! Amiga shoots in but no luck this time. Salvacion steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. Horrible takedown attempt by Amiga or perhaps it was just good defense by Salvacion, which made it look bad. Salvacion closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Amiga did well to prevent Salvacion getting side control. Amiga has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Salvacion is on him like a limpet, forcing Amiga back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Salvacion gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Amiga.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kugus Amiga. That's going to take a lot out of him. Salvacion has Amiga pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Amiga manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Salvacion has Amiga pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Salvacion pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Amiga tumbling to the mat - Salvacion dives into Amiga's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Amiga wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

And that's the end of the fight! Helen Salvacion comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Salvacion has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
