Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Trappy Trapperson (ranked 2281 p4p, 3221 weight class) and Nakagome Kakuzo (ranked 308 p4p, 417 weight class). Trappy Trapperson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Trappy Trapperson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nakagome Kakuzo!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, John Roberts and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trapperson has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Trapperson there as he acknowledges the shot.
Kakuzo throws a series of punches but Trapperson moves out of range.
Trapperson attempts a counter takedown but Kakuzo avoids it well and moves away.
Kakuzo feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Trappersons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Trapperson gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Kakuzo closes the distance and pushes Trapperson back into the cage.
Trapperson wants to take the fight to the mat but Kakuzo manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Kakuzo is pushing Trapperson up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nakagome Kakuzo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nakagome Kakuzo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Trapperson is rocked!
Nakagome Kakuzo seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Kakuzo throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Trapperson's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Kakuzo dives in looking to finish as Trapperson flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Kakuzo's strikes! Kakuzo is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Trapperson's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Trapperson was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
