Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Boban Turnik! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 24 - 21 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Beecher! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Turnik on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Turnik lands a jab to the nose. A telegraphed right hand from Turnik misses the target. Beecher takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Turnik throws a hook to the side of Beecher's head but Beecher sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Beecher is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Turnik misses with a looping left. Beecher throws a combination that misses and Turnik counters with a straight right hand. Turnik checks a leg kick nicely. Beecher throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. We've been informed that Beecher has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Beecher fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Turnik is out of range. Beecher throws a sloppy head kick and Turnik moves out of range easily. Turnik lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Beecher uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Turnik. A slow jab from Beecher misses its intended target. Beecher ducks under a wild hook from Turnik. It seemed like Beecher was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Beecher just misses with a punch to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Beecher throws a big shot that misses. A shot to the liver by Turnik. Beautiful body shot. Beecher tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Turnik is able to avoid easily. Beecher defending well as Turnik loads up on a big left hand. Danga de danga de dang - Turnik scores with a four punch combination!
That's one minute gone in the round. A swing and a miss from Turnik. Beecher uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Turnik. Beecher attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Turnik shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Beecher eats them both and turns towards Turnik to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Beecher scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Turnik doesn't seem bothered though. Turnik swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
letting Beecher counter with a right hand.
It looks like Boban Turnik has been cut. Beecher displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Turnik misses with a series of wild punches.
Beecher throws a sloppy head kick and Turnik moves out of range easily. A slow jab from Turnik misses its intended target. Turnik blocks the body kick.
Beecher slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Turnik throws a sloppy body shot
and Beecher connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Beecher takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Turnik looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Turnik connects with a good right hand that stumbles Beecher. Beecher circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Turnik looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Turnik takes a swing at Beecher's ribcage but misses. Beecher lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Beecher throws the kick towards the body but Turnik avoids it. A combination from Turnik does no damage. Beecher slips under a jab from Turnik. Turnik swings widly with a right hand
and Beecher counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Turnik misses with the combination.
The fighters circling - Turnik throws out the jab but it was never going to land. A big right from Beecher misses. A counter left hand to the body from Turnik misses its target. Beecher tries a low kick but Turnik avoids it. Beecher misses with a combination
and Turnik connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Paul Beecher seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Turnik looks to land a right hand but Beecher moved out of range. A big right from Turnik misses. Turnik swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Turnik counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Boban Turnik dominated that round. The cut man is working on Boban Turnik's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Turnik scores with a decent looking hook. Turnik swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Beecher. Beecher pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Turnik throws the left hand but Beecher avoids the punch easily. Beecher steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. Turnik throws a lazy right hand but Beecher sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Turnik misses with an uppercut. Beecher shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Turnik moves out of range of the strikes. Beecher pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Turnik lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Beecher backs up against the ropes.
Beecher moves out of range of the strikes. A little jabbing left from Beecher on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Turnik avoids the head kick by Beecher.
Turnik closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Turnik pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Turnik is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Beecher can do to turn this around? Turnik connects with a beautiful left hand that drops Beecher onto his butt! Beecher bounces straight back up though - he's OK. After the ref checks him out, we're back to the action.
Beecher is rocked! A low kick from Beecher misses and Turnik counters with a big right hook, that lands right on the temple! Beecher goes down! Turnik rushes to a neutral corner to get the count going quickly. This one's going to be close! 3,4,5,6,7... Beecher is up to one knee.... 8,9.... He's up! The referee says he's good to go, so we're back to the action! Beecher is still on wobbly legs! Can Turnik finish him? Beecher walks straight into a perfectly timed right hook, crumpling him to the floor! Beecher is in all kinds of trouble here - can he beat the count? 3,4,5,6,7,8,9....10 - he's out and it's by a long way too - he didn't ever look like beating that count!
