Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Gascoigne (ranked 1859 p4p, 1131 weight class) and Lou Slugger (ranked 232 p4p, 152 weight class). Slugger comes into a darkened arena with his song building. For Heavy Metal we will die! kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Gascoigne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lou Slugger!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Andrew Berry and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slugger takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Gascoigne throws a lazy head kick
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Slugger throws a wild body kick that Gascoigne sees coming a mile off.
Gascoigne with a nice calf kick.
A nice inside leg kick there by Gascoigne. That's going to slow Slugger down.
Slugger misses with a jab, cross combination.
Slugger takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Slugger lands a nice hook to Gascoigne's body. Gascoigne takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Gascoigne misses the shot to the body.
Slugger walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

It looks like Lou Slugger has been cut.
Gascoigne looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Slugger fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Gascoigne is out of range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gascoigne shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

It looks like Paul Gascoigne has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gascoigne lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Slugger circles away quickly and effectively.
Slugger moves out of range of the strikes.

Gascoigne closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Gascoigne can't find room to land a body shot as Slugger controls the action.
Slugger misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Gascoigne's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Slugger manages to break the clinch.
Slugger blocks a jab.
Slugger misses with a looping left.
Slugger avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gascoigne cracks Slugger with a right hand to the side of the head.
Slugger takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Gascoigne tries to clinch up but Slugger circles away and keeps his distance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gascoigne misses with a low kick.
Slugger looks like he wants to counter punch here.
A good leg kick by Gascoigne.
Slugger tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Slugger throws a big shot that misses.

Gascoigne gets a clinch.

Gascoigne's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Gascoigne checks a leg kick.
Gascoigne seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Gascoigne uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Slugger.
Gascoigne is looking for a counter combo.
Gascoigne walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Slugger on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Gascoigne lands a nice looking kick to the body. Slugger takes a step back to recover.
Paul Gascoigne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A combination from Slugger does no damage.
Gascoigne throws a series of punches but Slugger avoids them all with ease.
No joy there for Gascoigne, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Slugger tries to land a front kick but Gascoigne steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Gascoigne half committed to a counter leg kick.
Slugger walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Gascoigne is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Slugger misses with a kick to the body.
Gascoigne throws a good cross that connects.
Gascoigne darts in trying to clinch
enabling Slugger to counter with a crisp jab.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gascoigne moves in looking to clinch but Slugger pushes him off.
Slugger sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Gascoigne drops Slugger with a beautiful combination! Slugger stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Gascoigne is looking for the KO!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Slugger gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Gascoigne gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Paul Gascoigne!
Paul Gascoigne decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
