Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Caol Hioki (ranked 4408 p4p, 4370 weight class) and Marcus Day (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Caol Hioki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marcus Day! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Shimada and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hioki cracks a nice hook into Day's ribs. Marcus Day seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Day fails in his attempt to clinch. An attempted straight right counter from Hioki misses the target. Day tries to clinch up but Hioki circles away and keeps his distance. Day pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Day throws a head kick that misses. Hioki seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Hioki connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Day walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Hioki checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Day has Hioki up against the cage in a clinch.
Day wants to break free but Hioki has control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Day is trying to maintain a safe position but Hioki gets an underhook and turns Day into the cage. A short right hand to the side of the head by Hioki. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Hioki lands a shot to the body. Day pressing his opponent against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hioki leaning his opponent against the cage. Day wants a takedown but no success here.
Day goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Day tries for a takedown. No joy.
Hioki softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Day is trying to stall.
Hioki working some nice short punches in the clinch. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Day.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hioki keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Day's efforts to push away. Hioki manages to break the clinch.
Day fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hioki avoids it really well and circles away. Caol Hioki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Day. Day is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hioki sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Hioki slaps away a takedown attempt from Day, before circling back to the center of the mat. Hioki swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Day bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Hioki is looking to regain half guard here but Day keeps moving and retains side control. Day in side control, throwing shots but Hioki defends.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hioki tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Day wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Day working away. Day has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Day shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hioki as he jumps to the side. Day tries to clinch but Hioki moves out of range. Hioki throwing a counter right hand but Day manages to avoid it. A slow jab from Hioki misses its intended target. Day keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hioki. Day lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Hioki closes the distance and pushes Day back into the cage. Hioki avoiding damage as Day throws knees to the body.
Day with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hioki manages to break the clinch.
Caol Hioki is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Hioki scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Day fails with an attempt to clinch.
Day tries for a takedown but Hioki circles away easily and Hioki connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. No luck for Day with that takedown attempt. Hioki throws a good cross that connects.
Day wants to clinch but Hioki slips to the side and Hioki counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Day thinking. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Day tries to clinch up. An attempted straight right counter from Hioki misses the target. Nice straight punches there by Hioki. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Hioki. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Caol Hioki dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Day gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Hioki counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Day thinking. Hioki loads up on a big right hand but Day slips the punch. Day shoots and misses and Hioki counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Day tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hioki paws at him with a jab and circles away. Day fails with the takedown. Caol Hioki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Day. Day moves in looking to clinch but Hioki pushes him off. Hioki was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Day has a takedown stuffed. Day tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hioki manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Hioki is looking to counter punch. Day misses with the combination.
Hioki swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Hioki is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Day can do to turn this around? Hioki fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Day tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hioki swats him away and circles back towards the center. Hioki was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Hioki blocks a low kick nicely. As Day looks to move away, Hioki throws a big counter combo but Day just gets out of the way. Day tries to clinch up but Hioki circles away and keeps his distance. Hioki went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Hioki misses with a body shot.

Hioki appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Hioki lands an overhand right. Day defending well as Hioki loads up on a big left hand. Day darts in trying to clinch enabling Hioki to counter with a crisp jab. Day fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Day shoots in for a double leg but Hioki sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Day shoots in but Hioki avoids the takedown attempt easily. Hioki throws a good cross that connects.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hioki thuds his right hand into Day's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. A telegraphed right hand from Day misses the target. Hioki was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Hioki fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Nice sprawl there from Hioki as Day shoots in. Day shoots in for a takedown but Hioki shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Day is breathing heavily. Day walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Hioki connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Day momentarily.
Hioki connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Day is rocked! Day moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Day is still on wobbly legs! Can Hioki finish him? Hioki misses with a looping left. Day gets cracked there but stands up to it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Horrible takedown attempt by Day or perhaps it was just good defense by Hioki, which made it look bad. Hioki avoids the head kick by Day.
No luck for Day with that takedown attempt. Hioki gets tackled into the cage by Day. Day maintains the clinch. Day seems to have recovered his senses. Day tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hioki smiles and moves away.
Day dives in for a single leg takedown but Hioki sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Hioki walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Day checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Hioki throws out a loose jab but Day uses good head movement to avoid it. Day tries to move into range but Hioki moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Day throws a head kick that misses. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Caol Hioki dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round! Hioki fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Hioki closes the distance and lands a one-two. Day misses with an uppercut
and Hioki counters with a nice uppercut. Day fails in his attempt to clinch. Day misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Day closes the distance and clinches up with Hioki, looking for a takedown. Day pushes Hioki against the cage but Hioki circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. The fight stays on the outside here - Day looks like he's thinking about clinching though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hioki cracks Day with an open hand slap. Day takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Day shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hioki as he jumps to the side.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hioki lands with a nice combination. Day backs away looking to recover. No luck with that takedown attempt from Day. Caol Hioki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Day. Day takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Day with a lazy takedown attempt and Hioki counters by clinching up. Hioki lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Day tries to work over Hioki's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Hioki escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Caol Hioki is winning the standup battle so far. Hioki avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Hioki takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Day changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hioki tries to avoid it but Day manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hioki to the ground. Hioki escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Day throws a lazy uppercut
enabling Hioki to counter with a crisp jab. Hioki throws a jab when Day was well out of range. Day walks into a stiff left hand from Hioki. Marcus Day is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Day shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hioki as he avoids it easily. Hioki ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Day moves away. Day darts in looking for a takedown but Hioki gets double underhooks and turns Day into the cage. Hioki throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hioki wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Hioki scores with a hook. Day fails with a takedown attempt. Hioki tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Day manages to circle out of the way.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Day needs to keep his hands up - Hioki had a free shot at his head there. Hioki scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Day fails with a takedown attempt. Day drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hioki throws a shot from downtown. Day moves away and avoids it. Day shoots and misses and Hioki moves into the clinch. Hioki prevents the takedown attempt.
Caol Hioki is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Day takes a shot to the head. Day has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. Day is trying to pull guard but Hioki turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Hioki has Day pressed against the cage.
The referee calls for Hioki to work.
Marcus Day has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Hioki lands a left hand that snaps the head of Day backwards.
And that's the end of the fight! Caol Hioki showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hioki, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
