Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Erik McGoat (ranked 4261 p4p, 4154 weight class) and Andrey Medvedev (ranked 0 p4p, 383 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Erik McGoat! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Andrey Medvedev! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGoat shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than McGoat was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Medvedev is looking to reverse the position. McGoat is trying to get an arm triangle but Medvedev is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Medvedev is positioning himself to get back to half guard. McGoat controls the position. McGoat bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Medvedev's guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Medvedev is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Medvedev on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. McGoat is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Medvedev is just riding it out for now. Medvedev looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Medvedev is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but McGoat pulls his head out easily. Possibly, maybe, no McGoat has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Medvedev is looking for a sweep. Medvedev is trying to work for a sweep but McGoat has mounted him! That's one minute gone in the round. McGoat lands a nice shot to the head. McGoat tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Medvedev is desperately trying to improve his position but McGoat has a good base and remains in mount. Medvedev is breathing heavily. Medvedev slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. McGoat landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Medvedev wants to improve his position but McGoat is controlling well.

McGoat seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Medvedev for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. McGoat is nestled in close to Medvedev, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. McGoat wants to control but Medvedev postures up. McGoat throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land. McGoat tries to buck Medvedev off but Medvedev is having none of it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! McGoat can't do much from the bottom here. Erik McGoat is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. McGoat is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Medvedev's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
And that's the end of the fight! Erik McGoat showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for McGoat, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
