PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between AJ Adams (ranked 24057 p4p, 3754 weight class) and Danielos Tiger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adams kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Gold Medalist. AJ Adams has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, AJ Adams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Danielos Tiger!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Adams gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Tiger to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Tiger working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Tiger is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Tiger cracks Adams with a solid left hand.
Tiger controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tiger trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Tiger is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Adams looking to control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Tiger stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Tiger shoots and misses
and Adams counters with a nice low kick that buckles Tiger's knee momentarily.
Tiger has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Tiger throws a head kick that misses.
Tiger shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Adams as he jumps to the side.
Adams changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tiger tries to avoid it but Adams manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tiger to the ground. Tiger escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Adams tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tiger swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Despite the aggression on Tiger's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Tiger looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Adams tries to counter by clinching up but Tiger breaks away and moves out of range.
AJ Adams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danielos Tiger.
Tiger takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Adams gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Adams is working an open guard so Tiger takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Adams clinches up against the cage.

Tiger ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Tiger no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Tiger manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Adams manages to get himself to full guard.

Adams wants to stand up but Tiger is controlling him.
Tiger engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Tiger's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Adams being controlled here, momentarily.
Tiger throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Adams works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Tiger drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Adams dives on top into guard.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Danielos Tiger dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Adams tries to clinch up.
Adams is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Adams displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tiger.

Adams gets tackled into the cage by Tiger. Tiger maintains the clinch.
Tiger wants to take the fight to the mat but Adams manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Adams is defending well against a takedown attempt.
AJ Adams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danielos Tiger.
Tiger tries for a takedown. No joy.
Adams is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Tiger to keep the fight standing.

Tiger drops down looking for an ankle pick but Adams pulls his leg out and moves away.
Tiger shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Adams defends it nicely.

Adams lands a head kick. Tiger smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Tiger wants to take the fight to the mat but Adams manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Tiger gets control of Adams's arms and successfully pulls guard. Tiger will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Tiger is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Danielos Tiger has got the better of the ground game so far.
Adams pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Tiger is keeping the position for now.
Adams knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tiger on the ground.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Tiger has his hands on Adams's head, controlling the position.

Tiger is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Adams presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Tiger wants to take the fight to the mat but Adams manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Adams fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Tiger has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Adams avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Adams tries to pull guard but Tiger holds him up against the cage and eventually Adams drops back down to his feet.

Adams breaks from the clinch.
Tiger fails to land the takedown.
Tiger shoots in for a takedown but Adams shows good takedown defense.

Adams closes the distance and clinches.

Adams gets underhooks to prevent Tiger's takedown attempt.
Adams tries to pull guard but Tiger forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Tiger manages to break the clinch.

Adams clinches with his opponent.

Adams escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Adams goes for a double leg but Tiger avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Tiger continues to drive forward.
Adams stops a takedown attempt from Tiger.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Adams throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Tiger closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Tiger lands in his opponent's guard.
Tiger postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Adams can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Tiger controls the pace.

Tiger drops back looking for a leg! Adams is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Adams manages to kick Tiger off! Tiger jumps back into Adams's guard.

Adams is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Tiger is controlling him.
Adams will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Tiger is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Adams jabs at Tiger's body.
Tiger tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Adams defends well and Tiger ends up having to push Adams into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Tiger shoots in for a double leg but Adams sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Tiger takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Adams tries to clinch up.

Adams gets a clinch.
Tiger tries for a takedown. No joy.
AJ Adams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danielos Tiger.

Adams breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
No luck for Adams with that takedown attempt.
Tiger avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Tiger tries to keep at a distance but Adams has taken the fight into the clinch.
Tiger is working for takedown but Adams is calmly controlling the position for now.

Adams escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Adams dives in for a single leg takedown but Tiger sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Tiger's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Tiger shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Adams wants to stand but Tiger is controlling the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Tiger postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tiger slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Adams trying to keep a closed guard but Tiger is proving a slippery customer.
Tiger controlling from the top position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Adams darts in trying to clinch

and Tiger counters with a nice double leg into guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Danielos Tiger.
I think Tiger has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
