Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Harinck (ranked 1524 p4p, 1997 weight class) and Mad Hatter (ranked 87 p4p, 114 weight class). Tommy Harinck has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tommy Harinck! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mad Hatter! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Lou da Vinci and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harinck takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Harinck keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hatter. Harinck displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hatter throws out the jab. Hatter looks to throw the jab but Harinck is out of range. Harinck tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hatter was well out of range. Poor timing from Harinck. Hatter uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Harinck. A decent looking cross lands there for Hatter. Hatter cracks Harinck with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
It looks like Tommy Harinck has been cut. A looping hook to the body misses from Harinck. Hatter does a little dance to reset his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hatter just misses with a punch to the body.
Hatter bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Harinck loads up on a big right hand but Hatter slips the punch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hatter ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. A little jabbing left from Hatter on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Hatter loads up on a big right hand but Harinck slips the punch. Harinck forces Hatter back against the cage and clinches. Hatter throws a knee to the head but misses.
A nice right hand lands inside from Harinck. A shot in the inside from Hatter. A body shot lands from Hatter.
Harinck has Hatter pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Harinck pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Hatter tumbling to the mat - Harinck dives into Hatter's guard. Harinck trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Harinck throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Harinck pushes down on Hatter's leg and manages to get into half guard. Harinck is pressing down on Hatter's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hatter is holding on for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Harinck is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hatter defends it well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Harinck throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Hatter tries to kick Harinck off but Harinck keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Harinck thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hatter's head. Hatter manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Harinck keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Hatter misses with the head strike.
Harinck lands a right hand. Nice body punch from Hatter. Harinck has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hatter is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Hatter misses with some punches.
Hatter working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hatter's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Harinck misses with a takedown attempt - Hatter sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Hatter's jab looks to have found its range, popping Harinck under the eye. Hatter throws a hook but Harinck blocks it. Hatter lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Harinck shoots in looking for a takedown but Hatter manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Harinck's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tommy Harinck. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hatter misses with a combination
and Harinck counters by moving into the clinch. Hatter throws a head punch that misses. Hatter tries a body shot but Harinck blocks it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hatter prevents a body shot from Harinck. Harinck lands a left hand that snaps the head of Hatter backwards. Hatter's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Hatter thows a left - swing and a miss! Hatter lands a head shot. Harinck avoids the head kick by Hatter.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hatter throws a big shot that misses. Harinck misses with a hook. Harinck on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Hatter ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. A little jabbing left from Hatter on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Hatter tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Harinck was well out of range. Poor timing from Hatter. Hatter lands a glancing blow to the side of Harinck's head. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Mad Hatter dominated that round. The cut man is working on Tommy Harinck's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Hatter moves away from the strike by Harinck. Harinck moves away from the strike by Hatter. Harinck fails with the takedown. Hatter throws an off balance right hand
and Harinck holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Hatter has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Harinck seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Hatter can turn it around. Hatter makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Harinck has a couple of punches blocked by Hatter.
Harinck has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Hatter clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Hatter preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Harinck. Harinck seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Harinck is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hatter is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Tommy Harinck overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hatter is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Harinck gets his way!
Harinck looking for the choke but no joy. Hatter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Harinck. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Harinck patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Hatter is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Hatter is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Harinck off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Harinck is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Hatter with him. Hatter is trying to defend but Harinck has an arm under the chin now! Hatter grimaces and is forced to tap out!
