The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Almeida feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Almeida has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Almeida postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Henderson looks a forlorn figure.

Almeida goes for an armbar but Henderson turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Henderson.

Henderson has hold of Almeida's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Almeida manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Henderson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Almeida can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Almeida closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Henderson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Almeida with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Almeida had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Henderson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Almeida Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Henderson's back instead.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Almeida, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
