PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tomomi Tsuruta (ranked 1473 p4p, 2323 weight class) and Anthony Falcone (ranked 223 p4p, 331 weight class). Falcone is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Goodfellas - long take restaurant scene. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Falcone connects with a leg kick.
Tsuruta throws a body shot but no joy.
Falcone flicks out a counter leg kick but Tsuruta steps away.
Falcone misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Falcone lands a jab to the head.
Tsuruta getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Falcone!

Falcone gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Tsuruta lands a hook to the side of the head.
Falcone lands a left hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tsuruta swings wildly with an uppercut but Falcone uses good head movement to avoid it.

Falcone tries to break the clinch but Tsuruta is controlling the position.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Tsuruta creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Tsuruta misses with some punches.
Tsuruta fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Falcone.

Tsuruta breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Falcone scores with a jab.
Tsuruta tries to clinch there but Falcone circles away.
Falcone attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Falcone throws a jab but it's blocked by Tsuruta.
Falcone misses the jab.

Falcone clinches with his opponent.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Falcone.
Falcone lands a body punch in the clinch.

Falcone's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Tsuruta has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Falcone.

Falcone pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Tsuruta takes one to the side of the head.
Tsuruta on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tsuruta is looking to clinch but Falcone is avoiding it.
Falcone unleashes a big counter combination but Tsuruta bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Falcone moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
A decent looking cross lands there for Falcone.
Falcone tries a head kick but it misses.
The crowd cheers as Tsuruta lands an impressive looking overhand right. Falcone doesn't seem phased though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tsuruta pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Falcone connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Tsuruta works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Falcone tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Tsuruta counters with a crisp right hand that drops Falcone! Tsuruta lets Falcone back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Falcone is rocked!

It looks like Anthony Falcone has been cut.
Tsuruta measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Falcone! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!
