PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between James Gordon (ranked 4351 p4p, 3613 weight class) and Rasl Tony (ranked 459 p4p, 407 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, James Gordon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rasl Tony! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, William Gold and Paul Tew.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tony misses with a combination
and Gordon counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Tony dives in for a single leg takedown but Gordon sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Gordon appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Tony fails with the takedown and Gordon counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Gordon takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Tony bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Gordon tries to escape but Tony is in control. Gordon is looking to regain half guard here but Tony keeps moving and retains side control. Gordon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gordon is trying to control Tony's posture but Tony avoids it. Gordon regains half guard.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Tony prevents Gordon from improving his position. Tony looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Tony is nestled in close to Gordon, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Gordon wants to improve his position but Tony is controlling well.
Tony scores with a big shot! Gordon's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Gordon! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rasl Tony!
