Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Davidson (ranked 5648 p4p, 3966 weight class) and Desmond Okafor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Paul Davidson has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Paul Davidson seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Paul Davidson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Desmond Okafor! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davidson doesn't manage to clinch there - Okafor circles away.
Davidson takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
It looks like Paul Davidson has been cut. Davidson shoots in for a takedown but Okafor shows good takedown defense. Davidson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
An inside leg kick lands from Okafor. Davidson moves into the clinch. We've been informed that Okafor has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Okafor scores with a shot to the side of Davidson's head. Davidson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Davidson has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Okafor lands a left hand.
Davidson is trying to drag Okafor to the mat but Okafor just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Davidson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Okafor working some nice short punches in the clinch. Okafor comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. This has been an exciting period of action! A shot in the inside from Okafor. Okafor prevents the takedown attempt.
Okafor gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Davidson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Okafor fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Okafor. Davidson shrugs it off though. Paul Davidson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Davidson is breathing heavily. Okafor lands a big head kick that sends Davidson tumbling to the mat! Okafor takes a step backwards and waves Davidson back to his feet - he wants the finish!
That's one minute gone in the round. Okafor cracks Davidson with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Davidson looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Okafor finish him?
Davidson is rocked!
Paul Davidson's cut is getting worse. Okafor lands a slapping body shot.
Oh Davidson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Davidson walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Okafor swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Desmond Okafor! Desmond Okafor was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
