This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the light heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 3 losses; Jan Sobieski! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 6 losses; Everett Arroyo!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Colin Fray and Ryoma Takatsuka.

We've been hearing good reports from Sobieski's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

You can see the frustration on Sobieski's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Arroyo slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Let's hope that Arroyo has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Arroyo defends a prolonged rear naked choke attempt and turns nicely into his opponent's guard.

Sobieski has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Arroyo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Arroyo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sobieski swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Arroyo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sobieski has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Arroyo has managed to get both his arms back between Sobieski's legs - danger averted.
Arroyo sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sobieski's guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Sobieski is controlling Arroyo's trapped leg to prevent Arroyo from advancing to side control.
