Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between James Shield (ranked 24962 p4p, 24171 weight class) and Agbay Amiga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Shield looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shield gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Shield definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Shield gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Shield seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shield thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Amiga trying to control from the bottom.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Amiga changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shield looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Amiga decides to stand back up. Amiga steps back and let's Shield get back to his feet.
Amiga avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Amiga pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Shield was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
No luck for Shield with that takedown attempt.
Amiga follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Amiga throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Amiga shoots in but Shield avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Amiga looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Shield tries to kick Amiga off in order to stand up. Amiga Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Shield is looking to reverse the position.

And Amiga responds with a good body kick, but Shield manages to step out the way in time.

Amiga closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Shield is trying to escape back to his feet but Amiga uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Amiga shoots in and bounces Shield off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Amiga prevents Shield from improving his position.
Shield scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Amiga manages to mount him!

Agbay Amiga showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
