The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Makarov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Makarov (2) vs (0) Pripyat Makarov has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. You can't force these things though and Makarov defends well. Pripyat looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Pripyat pushes a forearm under Makarov's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Makarov is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
