This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 5 wins and 11 losses; Sergei Ulatov!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Colin Fotheringham and James Glass.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
No luck for Ulatov with that takedown attempt.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ulatov enables Alopodis to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ulatov manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Alopodis is pushing down on Ulatov's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ulatov is fighting to maintain full guard but Alopodis has managed to sneak the leg through.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Alopodis looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Ulatov tries to roll over but Alopodis keeps him under control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Alopodis uses his free foot to push down on Ulatov's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ulatov.

Alopodis wants to control the pace but Ulatov is squirming around nicely.

Alopodis is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ulatov's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ulatov's back!

Alopodis is looking for a choke. Ulatov gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Ulatov manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.

Alopodis working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ulatov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ulatov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Ulatov stands and throws Alopodis's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Ulatov maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Alopodis could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Ulatov has cracked it and Alopodis is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Ulatov!
