Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 20 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sam Salter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Merel!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Valeri Chadov and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Merel connects with a crisp jab.
Merel throws a jab when Salter was well out of range.
Merel's jab looks to have found its range, popping Salter under the eye.
Salter dives in and grabs Merel's left leg, looking for a takedown. Merel pushes down on Salter's head and hops out.
Merel connects with a looping right hand.
Merel displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Salter.
Merel cracks Salter with a good jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Salter takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Merel is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Merel moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Merel has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Merel cracks a nice hook into Salter's ribs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Merel stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sam Salter. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Merel cracks a nice hook into Salter's ribs.
Salter takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Salter moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Merel lands a big right hand that sends Salter crashing to the mat! Merel stays standing though and waves Salter back to his feet!
Salter is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Salter shoots in but Merel avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Oh Salter is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Merel, as that shot connected.
Salter takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Salter seems to have got his legs back now.
Merel digs a good body shot into Salter's ribs.
Anthony Merel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Merel feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Salter sprawling to the canvas! Salter rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Merel finish him?!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Merel drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Salter right on the button. Salter goes down! Merel follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Merel gets the win via TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Anthony Merel!
Anthony Merel seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
Sam Salter spoke after the fight, saying 'I think it may be time to hang up the gloves. Its been fun at times but Im over this time to go kill myself and family chris benoit style.'.
