Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Memian Daia (ranked 3043 p4p, 4082 weight class) and James Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Garcia has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Memian Daia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Garcia! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Daniel Cesar and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Daia throws a sloppy head kick and Garcia counters with a lovely straight right hand! Daia showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Garcia.
Sloppy strikes from Garcia. Those never looked like landing. Daia wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Garcia rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Daia moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Garcia swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Daia counters with a takedown into side control. Daia trying to control the position but Garcia is working away. Daia in side control lands a decent elbow. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Garcia can do anything to dispel that myth. Daia is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Garcia is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Daia controls the position from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Daia stands up and we're back to a striking position. Daia has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Garcia finds it's way round the side to connect with Daia's head. Daia darts in and clinches Garcia up against the cage. Daia looking for a takedown. Daia tries to pull guard but Garcia forces him back to his feet, against the cage. A frustrated look appears on Garcia's face as he tries to break the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Daia jumps guard but Garcia stands there with Daia around his waist. Daia gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Memian Daia. That's going to take a lot out of him. Daia breaks from the clinch.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Garcia!
Garcia feints with a jab and clips Daia right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Daia is sent crashing into the canvas and Garcia leaps in for the kill! Daia tries to get to his feet but Garcia is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Daia is in need of a savior and steps in!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Garcia!
