Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyson Fury! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Gillespie! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gillespie has a takedown stuffed. Fury throws a right hand that Gillespie ducks under and follows up with a left that Gillespie also avoids with ease. Gillespie looks like he wants to counter punch here. Fury comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Gillespie fails with the takedown. Nice uppercut there from Fury.
It looks like Mark Gillespie has been cut. Gillespie closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Fury did well to prevent Gillespie getting side control. Gillespie working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Gillespie sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Fury defending well though. Fury wants to get back to his feet. Fury on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Fury tries to get out of the position. Gillespie not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Gillespie trying to control from half guard but Fury is working away. Gillespie looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Gillespie thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Gillespie slips a nice elbow through Fury's hands, connecting with Fury's forehead.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gillespie looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Fury with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Fury scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Gillespie manages to mount him!
Fury really wants to buck Gillespie off and get back to his feet. Gillespie raining down shots from the mount! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gillespie is landing with some decent strikes but Fury is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Fury is rocked! Whack. That's a big, big shot from Gillespie! Fury is out cold! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Mark Gillespie! Mark Gillespie is the new heavyweight champion!
