Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McGarry gets caught flat footed, as Hawes shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

McGarry looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hawes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McGarry. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hawes got a little sloppy there for a moment and McGarry has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hawes has managed to get both his arms back between McGarry's legs - danger averted.
McGarry has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Hawes tries to free his leg and advance position but McGarry is retaining full guard.

McGarry is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

McGarry has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hawes can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
McGarry is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Oh but McGarry is tightening it up a little... Hawes has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Hawes reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Hawes taps out! Nice BJJ there by McGarry!
